Faraday Future Intelligent Electric Inc. (FFAI) is having a moment. On Monday, the California-based electric vehicle maker announced that August sales and shipments of its EAI robotics devices hit a monthly record of 158 units. That's a nice round number, and it brings cumulative sales and shipments to 552 units since deliveries began in February. The company says it's still maintaining positive gross margins at the product level, and it's aiming for 2,000 units for the full year.
But the real headline might be what Faraday Future is doing behind the scenes to clean up its balance sheet. The company said it canceled more than 33.5 million investment warrants tied to its March 2025 financing, plus nearly 240,000 unissued common stock purchase warrants. Together, those moves eliminated about 57.48% of the potential dilution associated with that financing, on a fully diluted basis, based on current shares outstanding. That's a big deal for shareholders who've been watching the share count balloon.
Robotics Business Expands
The robotics push isn't just about selling gadgets. Faraday Future said robot motion control and EAI model training have entered engineering testing and delivery. And on Sept. 19, the company plans to launch its EAI Robotics Education Ecosystem Solution 1.0. That sounds like a mouthful, but it's essentially a package to bring its robots into classrooms.
Meanwhile, the EAI Data Factory is in talks with more than 10 potential customers, and the company is also chasing data orders in Southeast Asia. So there's a whole data angle here, too.
'Built In USA' Program Advances
Faraday Future's robotics unit also signed a collaboration agreement with AIBOT, which will provide support on regulatory compliance, engineering, manufacturing, testing, and supply chains. This is part of the company's 'Built In USA' program, which sounds patriotic and practical.
One wrinkle: Founder and Global CEO YT Jia disclosed that AIBOT's founders are related to him. That's the kind of thing that could raise eyebrows, but Faraday Future said its audit committee and board reviewed and approved the agreement. So it's out in the open, and the board signed off.
Price Action
Shares of Faraday Future were up 1.08% at $1.87 during premarket trading on Tuesday. Not a huge move, but the stock has been volatile as the company pivots from EVs to robots and cleans up its capital structure.
It's a busy time for Faraday Future. Record robot sales, a dilution cut, and a new manufacturing partnership. The question is whether the company can keep the momentum going and hit that 2,000-unit target. If it does, the robot story might start to overshadow the EV story entirely.
