Intuit Inc. (INTU) stock rose about 3% Tuesday, outperforming the broader technology sector as the financial software company showed signs of recovering from a prolonged downtrend.

Intuit Launches AI-Powered Credit Karma Tax
Separately, Intuit announced Tuesday the launch of Credit Karma Tax, offering free federal tax filing and a flat $15 fee per state return, regardless of tax complexity.
The service uses AI-powered tools to simplify tax preparation, automate data entry and detect errors. Members can also access federal tax refunds up to five days early at no additional cost through Credit Karma Checking, subject to eligibility.
Intuit also plans to offer refund advance loans of up to $4,000 with no loan fees and 0% annual percentage rate for the upcoming tax season.
The launch expands Credit Karma's role as an AI-powered financial assistant, adding tax preparation to its existing money management, savings and debt repayment tools.
The move follows the company's announcement on Oct. 15 to acquire Sequence, an AI-native revenue management platform.
Technical Analysis
Intuit shares have lost 49.52% over the past year, but recent trading suggests improving short-term momentum.
The stock trades 13.2% above its 20-day simple moving average (SMA) of $296.47 and 4.5% above its 50-day SMA of $321.04.
However, shares remain 9.8% below the 200-day SMA of $372.24, indicating that the longer-term downtrend remains intact.
The 50-day SMA also remains below the 200-day SMA following a death cross in October 2025.
Meanwhile, the moving average convergence divergence (MACD) indicator is above its signal line, with a positive histogram. This suggests buying momentum is improving.
Key resistance stands near $373, close to the 200-day SMA. Support is around $322.50, near the 50-day SMA.
A sustained move above resistance could strengthen the recovery, while a decline below support could signal renewed selling pressure.
Earnings And Analyst Outlook

The stock carries a consensus Buy rating, with an average analyst price forecast of $378.
RBC Capital maintained its Outperform rating with a $385 price forecast Oct. 2. Evercore ISI and Mizuho also maintained Outperform ratings in September, with respective forecasts of $400 and $430.
