Former Vice President Mike Pence has a message for President Donald Trump: enough with the Russia diesel deal.

In a post on X Tuesday, Pence wrote, "Putin doesn't want peace. Putin wants Ukraine. Enough is enough."

He called on Trump to "rescind the diesel deal with Russia" and return to the policies pursued during his four years in the White House.

Pence also urged Trump to use the Lindsey Graham Sanctioning Russia Act to impose "harsh sanctions on any nation purchasing Russian energy."

And he called on the U.S. to work with its allies to make sure Ukraine gets the military support it needs to "repel and defeat this Russian invasion once and for all."

Pence closed the post with "Slava Ukraini," which means Glory to Ukraine.

Russia-Ukraine Energy Ceasefire Dispute

On Monday, Trump insisted Russia and Ukraine had agreed to an energy ceasefire, saying, "Well, they agreed," despite Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reporting Russian strikes on six Ukrainian energy facilities that wounded 33 people.

Zelenskyy accused Moscow of rejecting the truce, saying, "It is increasingly evident that Russia is unwilling to accept an energy ceasefire proposed by the United States."

He later reported Russian drone attacks in Kyiv that killed at least two people and injured nine others. Russia had not publicly confirmed the ceasefire, with the Kremlin saying contacts were ongoing.

Trump's Russia Deal Draws Mixed Reactions

Economist Peter Schiff criticized Trump's claim that Russia and Ukraine had agreed to an energy ceasefire, saying Trump had "simply imagined a deal."

Trump defended the announcement, saying, "They agreed," and called the war "a disaster."

Last week, Trump also called for Ukraine to replace President Zelenskyy, saying the country needed a leader who could negotiate a deal with Russia.

Rep. Thomas Massie (R-Ky.) supported Trump's diesel deal with Russia, saying it validated his warning that sanctions would raise costs for Americans.

He urged lifting sanctions on petroleum products, copper and aluminum as the administration sought to ease fuel prices ahead of the Nov. 3 midterm elections.
