Aehr Test Systems (AEHR) said Wednesday it received about $6 million in follow-on production orders from its lead hyperscale customer for testing a next-generation artificial intelligence processor.
The orders cover additional Sonoma high-power package-level test and burn-in systems, turnkey burn-in modules, device-specific sockets and software upgrades.
The equipment will be deployed at one of the customer's outsourced semiconductor assembly and test partners in Taiwan. Aehr expects deliveries over the next six months.
Second AI Processor Moves Toward 2027 Ramp
The new processor is the second AI device from the customer to use Aehr's Sonoma platform for production burn-in.
The latest orders expand testing capacity ahead of an expected production ramp in calendar 2027. According to Aehr, the customer expects the second processor to eventually reach production volumes above those of its first processor using Sonoma.
That first processor is already in high-volume production. Aehr expects volumes to continue rising as additional Sonoma capacity comes online.
CEO Gayn Erickson said the follow-on orders show the customer is expanding its use of Sonoma across successive generations of AI processors. He added that higher production volumes could create further demand for systems and related consumables.
Stock Analysis
Aehr stock is trading lower by about 5% on Wednesday as investors pull back from higher-risk technology stocks. The Nasdaq is down about 0.4%, while the S&P 500 has slipped roughly 0.3%.
That risk-off backdrop can weigh more heavily on high-beta stocks such as Aehr. The shares have posted strong gains over the past year, making them more vulnerable to profit-taking when investors reduce risk.
Aehr shares are trading below their 20-day, 50-day and 100-day simple moving averages. That setup points to weaker short-term momentum.
However, the stock remains above its 200-day SMA of $70.72. As a result, the longer-term trend remains intact despite the recent pullback.
Momentum has also weakened. The MACD is below its signal line, while the histogram is negative. That suggests upside momentum has faded.
The moving-average structure remains mixed. The 20-day SMA is below the 50-day SMA, which is bearish in the near term. However, the 50-day SMA remains above the 200-day SMA, supporting the longer-term bullish trend.
Traders may watch resistance near $102.50. A move above that level could improve the short-term setup. Support sits near $81, where buyers previously stepped in.
Earnings And Analyst Outlook
Aehr is expected to report earnings on Oct. 20, 2026. Analysts expect earnings of 11 cents per share, up from 1 cent a year earlier. Revenue is projected at $27.07 million, compared with $10.97 million in the year-ago period.
The stock carries a Strong Buy consensus rating and an average price forecast of $147.50. The forecasts range from $120 to $175 across two analysts.
Oppenheimer initiated coverage in September with an Outperform rating and a $120 price forecast. Jefferies initiated coverage in August with a Buy rating and a $175 price forecast. Freedom Broker maintained a Hold rating in March and raised its price forecast to $38.
Price Action
AEHR Stock Price Activity: Aehr Test Systems shares were down 4.89% at $87.63 at the time of publication Wednesday, according to market data.
