Teladoc Health, Inc. (NYSE:TDOC) said Wednesday it is adding two artificial intelligence-powered capabilities to its Solo platform as the virtual care provider looks to help hospitals streamline clinical workflows.
The new tools, SoloVitals and SoloScribe, aim to give care teams faster access to patient information while reducing the need for separate technology platforms.
Adds Contactless Vital-Sign Monitoring
SoloVitals allows clinicians to measure a patient's heart rate and respiration rate without physical contact.
The technology uses the camera on a smartphone or tablet to analyze subtle changes in facial skin color. It relies on remote photoplethysmography, or rPPG, to generate vital-sign measurements during virtual consultations.
Teladoc said the clinically validated technology can help clinicians make more informed decisions during remote visits.
SoloVitals is currently available to select customers through a private preview. Teladoc expects a broader release in December 2026.
SoloScribe Targets Clinical Paperwork
Meanwhile, SoloScribe uses ambient AI to create structured clinical notes during virtual appointments.
The tool generates a templated summary that can be transferred into a patient's electronic health record. It supports direct-to-patient consultations and visits conducted through telemedicine devices.
Teladoc said SoloScribe can reduce administrative work and allow clinicians to focus more attention on patients. The service is now generally available.
Both tools are built directly into the Solo platform. Teladoc said this approach can help hospitals adopt AI without adding more standalone systems or infrastructure.
Solo Already Used at 15,000 Locations
Teladoc's Solo technology is installed at more than 15,000 care locations worldwide.
The platform also integrates with electronic health record systems from Epic and Oracle Corporation's (NYSE:ORCL) Oracle Health using HL7 and FHIR standards.
Teladoc said the expanded platform is designed to help health systems scale virtual care while simplifying technology management for clinical teams.
