Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) is feeling good about November. On Sunday, September 20, she made her case on X that Democrats will win the midterms, even as anonymous money floods the 2026 races.

Anonymous Money Is Everywhere This Cycle

Warren said dark money groups have spent "record sums" on this year's elections. How much, exactly? Roughly $1 billion in anonymous funds has shaped 2026 races, according to a New York Times analysis of ad data, filings and tax records. That analysis found secret funding has influenced, or is expected to influence, "every major primary and battleground race."

'We Will Win in November'

Warren's argument is that "grassroots" progressive candidates have been winning anyway, despite the wealthy donors writing the big checks. Her Exhibit A: Abdul El-Sayed, who won Michigan's Senate primary by narrowly defeating Rep. Haley Stevens (D-MI) by less than one percentage point.

El-Sayed's "grassroots" campaign reportedly drove record turnout in the Democratic primary, while other reports suggested he overcame more than $60 million in opposition spending and assembled a 12,000-strong volunteer network.

"Grassroots power still matters. And we will in November," Warren said.

The senior Democrat had earlier targeted groups tied to AI, cryptocurrency and the American Israel Public Affairs Committee for spending millions to influence the selection of congressional representatives.

What Do Crypto Punters Think?

Meanwhile, Polymarket, which runs on Polygon (CRYPTO: POL), currently prices in a 61% chance that the Dems take control of both the House and Senate, up from 49% a month ago.

Democrats were the frontrunners to take control of the House, with 91% odds. The Senate race was closer, with the blue party holding a 61% chance of reclaiming control.

The Republicans currently control both the House and the Senate. The midterm elections are scheduled for Nov. 3.
