Bitdeer Technologies Group (BTDR) said Monday that its Bitdeer AI unit locked down a 65.1-megawatt AI cloud data center facility in Johor Bahru, Malaysia.

The expansion lands as the company's active AI cloud pipeline pushes past an estimated $7 billion. Bitdeer entered a 10-year data center services agreement for the facility, known as A202, and expects the site to be energized in the third quarter of 2027.

Building Out Malaysia

A202 is Bitdeer AI's largest single capacity addition in Southeast Asia. It sits on the same campus as the company's 21.7MW A201 facility, which means Bitdeer can extend existing power, liquid cooling and network infrastructure over to the new site rather than starting from scratch.

Together, the two facilities will provide 86.8MW of AI cloud capacity. A202 will support liquid-cooled, rack-scale NVIDIA systems, including GB300 NVL72 and Vera Rubin platforms, and can offer GPU cloud services and data hosting.

A $7 Billion Pipeline

Bitdeer AI said demand for its uncontracted capacity remains strong, with its active AI cloud capacity pipeline now exceeding an estimated $7 billion.

On the funding side, the company expects to pay for GPU deployments at A202 mainly through customer prepayments. It generally seeks prepayments covering more than 50% of related capital spending, with contract-backed financing and operating cash flow potentially chipping in the rest.

With A202 in the fold, Bitdeer AI has secured about 206.5MW of AI cloud data center capacity across Malaysia, Norway and the U.S. That's roughly 59% of its target of up to 350MW by the first quarter of 2028.
