Shares of Ondas Holdings (ONDS) were trading slightly lower Thursday afternoon, taking a pause after a turbulent stretch. The stock is consolidating as heavy short interest and potential share dilution continue to weigh on sentiment, keeping it near recent lows.

Record Q2 Growth Overshadowed by Scaled Operating Losses
In its second-quarter report on Aug. 13, Ondas posted record revenue of $83.8 million, a 13-fold jump year-over-year that easily beat Wall Street estimates. That top-line surge prompted management to raise full-year 2026 revenue guidance to between $525 million and $550 million.
But the initial post-earnings rally quickly faded as investors zeroed in on the bottom line. Ondas reported a net loss of 19 cents per share, missing expectations of a 13-cent loss. Aggressive operational scaling and integration costs from recent acquisitions are squeezing gross margins, and the market isn't loving it.
Dilution Risks and High Short Interest Cap Near-Term Upside
Technically, the stock is stuck well below its early-August highs near $9.70. A recent Form 8-K filing registered the potential resale of nearly 100,000 common shares issued for the acquisition of World View Enterprises. Resale filings are a signal that insider or acquisition-related shares could soon hit the open market, adding supply-side friction.
Meanwhile, short interest sits above 40% of the float, meaning a large group of traders is betting against the stock. While that heavy shorting leaves ONDS vulnerable to sudden upward squeezes, it also reflects real skepticism about how quickly Ondas can turn its $757 million order backlog into profitable growth.
ONDS Shares Pause Thursday
ONDS Price Action: Ondas shares were down 0.26% at $7.63 at the time of publication on Thursday, according to market data.
