Mike Johnson Warns Jared Kushner Not To Bet Against House Republicans
House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) cautioned Jared Kushner against underestimating the House Republicans' chances of retaining their majority in November. The warning came after Kushner, President Donald Trump's son-in-law and outside adviser, held a private meeting with House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-N.Y.).
"I heard about it the first time this morning," Johnson said Sunday on Fox News. "I know Jared is a smart guy and he hedges bets, but I'm telling you what, you better not bet against the House Republicans."
Hillary Clinton Says Republicans May Be 'Secretly Cheering' Mark Carney As Canada Pushes Back Against Trump
Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton suggested that Republicans might be supporting Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney as he resists President Donald Trump in an escalating trade war between the two countries. Clinton made these remarks at an event in New York.
"I can't imagine that even in the Republican cloakroom in the Senate, there's much enthusiasm for going into a trade war with Canada," Clinton said.
