Meta Prepares Hatch AI Agent Platform
Meta is getting ready to turn its massive AI investments into new consumer revenue streams. The company plans to launch an internally developed AI-agent platform called Hatch within the coming weeks, according to The Information.
Meta has been considering a tiered subscription model for Hatch. The highest-priced plan could cost $199.99 per month and would come with higher usage limits, the report said.
The platform would give users access to AI agents that can interact with websites and services, complete tasks, and use specialized tools through a customizable dashboard.
WhatsApp Could Expand Agent Reach
Meta is also preparing an AI-agent platform for WhatsApp. The service would let users connect and chat with other agents through the messaging app. A limited rollout could begin as soon as this week.
Together, these projects build on CEO Mark Zuckerberg's push to create AI-driven businesses beyond Meta's core advertising operation.
Watermelon Adds To Meta's AI Road Map
The company is also targeting an October release for a new AI model internally called Watermelon, as it accelerates its agentic AI efforts and competes with OpenAI and Anthropic.
Meta plans to monetize AI through greater engagement, improved recommendations, assistants, messaging, and devices, rather than relying only on model sales. Its open-weight strategy could lower AI costs while strengthening products that already reach billions of users.
