President Donald Trump is keeping all options on the table when it comes to Iran. In a Tuesday interview with Fox News, Trump was asked whether he would send U.S. troops into Iran's Kharg Island — and he didn't say no.
"No. Sometimes you need a ground campaign," Trump said. He added that while U.S. forces are capable, there are "other people who would do the campaign for us."
The comments come after recent U.S. strikes near Kharg Island, a key Iranian oil terminal. Trump revealed that U.S. forces had targeted the area multiple times but intentionally spared oil facilities because of their global economic importance. "I said hit everything but the oil," he stated.
Trump framed military strength as essential to negotiations. "The only way you can negotiate with these people is strength, and the only strength is military strength," he said. He warned that strikes would continue until he decides it's "enough," and that the U.S. could target Iran's power plants and bridges next week if Tehran doesn't agree to talks.
Trump also accused Iran of being dishonest about its nuclear ambitions, reinforcing his hardline stance.
