Faraday Future Intelligent Electric Inc. (FFAI) is no longer just about electric vehicles. On Wednesday, the company unveiled a full lineup of robotics products, sending its stock up 3.51% in premarket trading to $0.33.
The company launched what it calls its "full-form EAI Robot World," which includes six robotics product series, the world's first "Three-in-One" Embodied AI robotics education ecosystem, and two new robots aimed at education and commercial applications. The star of the show: the All-New Futurist humanoid robot and the FX Navi quadruped robot, both priced at $1,990 and available for purchase immediately.
Founder and Global CEO YT Jia said the launch positions Faraday Future to become "a pathbreaker, ecosystem builder, and mass-adoption driver in the global B2C robotics market."
The All-New Futurist is a full-size humanoid robot that natively supports NVIDIA Sonic's full-body motion control system. It stands about 5 feet 8 inches tall, weighs about 121 pounds, offers 31 degrees of freedom, reaches speeds of about 11 mph, and delivers up to six hours of runtime. The upcoming Futurist Ultra will feature NVIDIA's Jetson Thor chip.
FF also launched FX Navi, a quadruped robot designed for homes and classrooms. The robot includes 12 joint motors, supports iOS and Android smartphones as its computing platform, offers visual programming tools and a STEM curriculum, and supports secondary development. The company said additional specifications, applications, and new robotics products will be unveiled at the Automate conference in Chicago on June 22.
For now, Faraday Future is betting that a $1,990 humanoid robot that can keep up with you at a jog is exactly what the market wants. Early investors seem to agree.
