Nancy Pelosi, the former House Speaker who knows a thing or two about Democratic politics, is about to give Jack Schlossberg a serious boost. She's endorsing John F. Kennedy's grandson in his campaign for a coveted House seat representing New York's 12th Congressional District, according to The New York Times. The announcement is expected Sunday.

A Kennedy Who's Still the Underdog
Here's the interesting part: despite carrying one of America's most famous political surnames, Schlossberg is running as something of an outsider. He grew up in the district, sure, but he's facing skepticism over his thin political resume and lack of establishment support. His background? He's got Yale and Harvard degrees, a brief stint as a political reporter for Vogue, and a notable social media presence where he discusses everything from national politics to mental health to paddleboarding.
His mother, Caroline Kennedy, served as ambassador to Japan under Barack Obama and ambassador to Australia under Joe Biden. So the diplomatic genes are definitely there.
Family Dynamics Get Complicated
Schlossberg announced his Democratic candidacy in November 2025, and he hasn't been shy about drawing lines within his famous family. Back in 2023, he publicly slammed his cousin Robert F. Kennedy Jr.'s presidential campaign, calling it an "embarrassment" and endorsing Biden instead.
Pelosi's endorsement could be the establishment credibility Schlossberg needs to move from political commentator to serious contender in what's shaping up to be a competitive Democratic primary.
