From Wall Street to Prime Video
First Lady Melania Trump is heading to the New York Stock Exchange on Wednesday, and no, she's not there to trade. She'll ring the opening bell to mark the release of her documentary, which Amazon MGM Studios is calling "MELANIA." The NYSE announced the appearance on X, sharing a teaser for the film that chronicles her life as First Lady and her marriage to President Donald Trump.
The documentary premieres at the Kennedy Center on January 30 before landing on Amazon Prime Video. President Trump himself gave it a Monday morning endorsement, dubbing it a "Must Watch." Whether that's genuine praise or spousal obligation remains to be seen, but the hype machine is definitely running.
When Your Memecoin Does Better Than Bitcoin
Here's where things get interesting. The Official Melania (MELANIA) coin, a Solana (SOL)-based memecoin, has jumped 42% year-to-date. That's better than Bitcoin (BTC), better than Dogecoin (DOGE), and even better than the Official Trump (TRUMP) memecoin linked to her husband.
| Cryptocurrency | YTD Gains +/- | Price (Recorded at 9:30 p.m. ET) |
|---|---|---|
| Official Melania | +42.62% | $0.1646 |
| Official Trump | -0.81% | $4.76 |
Before you get too excited, let's add some context. MELANIA crashed 99% in 2025, wiping out nearly all value from its post-launch peak. At its high, the coin reached a market cap of $1.73 billion. Today? About $160 million. So this 42% bounce is more of a dead cat bounce than a comeback story.
The MELANIA meme coin website includes a disclaimer that reads: "Melania Memes are intended for collecting and entertainment purposes only. They are not financial instruments or investments." Translation: don't bet your rent money on this.
Important Note: Investing in meme coins is highly speculative and involves significant risk. Meme coins often lack intrinsic value and are driven by market sentiment, social media trends, and speculative trading.
