Security concerns, harsh weather conditions, and logistical challenges make projects like this anything but guaranteed. Venezuela's mineral potential faces similar uncertainties, though for different reasons.

Senator Chris Murphy (D-Conn.) issued a stark warning that any U.S. attempt to seize Greenland by force would have catastrophic consequences, potentially ending the NATO alliance altogether.
