Ondas Holdings Inc. (ONDS) shares climbed more than 12% Tuesday, and it's not hard to see why investors are getting excited. The company dropped a pair of announcements that hit right at the heart of its business strategy: securing critical infrastructure and becoming the standard for next-generation rail communications.

Another Big European Contract

First up, Ondas revealed Monday that it landed a second order worth approximately $8.2 million from a major European security authority. The contract involves deploying multiple Iron Drone Raider counter-UAS systems at a leading international airport in Europe. This follows a nearly identical $8.2 million order from the same customer back on November 17 for another airport.

Two orders of this size from the same customer in quick succession? That's the kind of validation companies dream about. "A repeat order from this leading European security customer is a strong validation of our growing role as a trusted provider of advanced counter-UAS capabilities," said Eric Brock, chairman and CEO of Ondas. "Iron Drone Raider's proven performance and operational readiness strengthen its position as the kinetic pillar within our System-of-Systems architecture."

The contracts signal real momentum in Ondas' efforts to protect Europe's critical infrastructure from drone threats, a growing concern for airports and other sensitive facilities.

A Strategic Addition to the Board

On Tuesday, Ondas also announced that Brent Laing has joined Ondas Networks as an independent board member and strategic advisor. His mission? Driving adoption of dot16, the company's rail communications technology.

This appointment matters because dot16 is a big deal for Ondas. The Association of American Railroads (AAR) Wireless Communications Committee confirmed in September 2024 that dot16—developed by Ondas Networks—will replace the legacy 160 MHz LMR voice network that railroads have relied on for decades.

Laing brings serious credentials to the table, having held senior executive positions at Canadian Pacific Railway and Canadian National, two of North America's largest railroads. He also serves on the board of the American Railway Engineering and Maintenance-of-Way Association. "Brent's deep understanding of railroad infrastructure and his credibility across the Class 1 community will be instrumental in accelerating adoption of dot16 as the new standard for mission-critical rail communications," Brock said.

What the Charts Say

From a technical perspective, Ondas is showing some impressive numbers. The stock is trading about 0.3% above its 50-day moving average, which suggests modest short-term momentum. But the real eye-opener is that it's trading 121.8% above its 200-day moving average, indicating a strong long-term bullish trend.

The 52-week range tells a story of volatility and growth potential. Shares have traded between $0.56 and $11.69 over the past year, and the current price sits closer to the upper end of that range. That's a significant climb from the lows.

The overall technical outlook remains bullish, with the stock trading above both short-term and long-term moving averages. If this momentum holds, there could be room for additional gains ahead.
