U.S. markets had a rough Monday, with the Dow Jones falling around 250 points. But not every stock got the memo.

The biggest winner of the day was Leggett & Platt Inc (LEG), which surged after Somnigroup International Inc (SGI) proposed acquiring all outstanding shares in an all-stock transaction. Under the terms, LEG shareholders would receive Somnigroup stock valued at $12.00 per LEG share based on a fixed exchange ratio. The market liked what it saw—Leggett & Platt shares jumped 13.4% to $11.64.

But plenty of other stocks recorded impressive gains despite the broader market weakness.

Monday's Biggest Movers

Coincheck Group NV (CNCK) led the pack with a massive 45.4% surge to $4.71, while GDEV Inc (GDEV) wasn't far behind, gaining 33.3% to $22.94.

New Found Gold Corp (NFGC) rose 18.7% to $2.86, and New Fortress Energy Inc (NFE) gained 18% to $1.44 as investors digested news of the conditional approval of a large liquified natural gas supply contract.

Bausch Health Companies Inc (BHC) climbed 15.3% to $7.30 after announcing its global aesthetic business, Solta Medical, acquired Wuhan Shibo Zhenmei Technology.

Jyong Biotech Ltd (MENS) gained 14% to $30.98, while T1 Energy Inc (TE) shares climbed 10.6% to $4.54.

Meihua International Medical Tech Co Ltd (MHUA) gained 10.4% to $13.12, and Bath & Body Works Inc (BBWI) rose 10.1% to $19.16.

Ashland Inc (ASH) added 9.6% to $57.50, while Wolfspeed Inc (WOLF) gained 8.5% to $22.04 after announcing it received $698.6 million in cash tax refunds from the Internal Revenue Service.

Rounding out the list, Community Health Systems Inc (CYH) gained 7.6% to $3.74, and Chagee Holdings Ltd (CHA) rose 7.4% to $16.10.

It's a reminder that even on down days for the broader market, individual stories can drive significant moves for specific stocks.
