Rep. Thomas Massie (R-Ky.) isn't holding back his support for Marjorie Taylor Greene. After the Georgia representative announced her resignation on Friday, Massie took to X with a message that was equal parts somber and supportive: he's "very sad for our country but so happy" for his friend. He encouraged people to read her full four-page statement, which he says contains "more honesty in four pages than most politicians offer in a lifetime."

When Allies Become Targets
The backstory matters here. Both Greene and Massie had pushed for releasing the Epstein files, and last year they teamed up to challenge Speaker Mike Johnson over a $95 billion foreign aid package that included $61 billion for Ukraine. Their alliance made them targets.
President Donald Trump went after Massie on Truth Social, calling him a "loser" and even criticizing his remarriage. Former Trump lawyer Jenna Ellis jumped to Massie's defense, arguing that "some things are still sacred."
Greene's departure comes after her public split with Trump. She's said she received safety threats from private security firms following Trump's attacks. The political realignment is getting messy enough that Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-Md.) suggested last week that Democrats would have "room for Marjorie Taylor Greene, if she wants to come over."
