Rocket Lab Corporation (RKLB) is about to pull off something that sounds simple but really isn't: launching rockets from opposite sides of the planet within two days of each other.
The company's next Electron mission, dubbed "Follow My Speed," is scheduled to launch from Launch Complex 1 in New Zealand on November 20 at 12:15 UTC. The flight will deploy a single satellite for an undisclosed commercial customer and comes less than 48 hours after Rocket Lab successfully launched from its Virginia facility.
This isn't just a cool logistics flex. The rapid turnaround demonstrates exactly what Rocket Lab has been building toward: fast, flexible access to orbit from multiple launch sites. It's actually the third time in the past year the company has managed back-to-back missions within a 48-hour window.
The timing is notable for another reason. The Virginia launch was Rocket Lab's 75th mission overall and pushed the company past its previous annual record of 16 launches. If "Follow My Speed" lifts off successfully, that'll make 18 missions for the year.
Wall Street seems to like what it's seeing. Bank of America Securities analyst Ronald J. Epstein pointed out that Rocket Lab delivered stronger-than-expected third-quarter profitability and sits comfortably with more than $1 billion in liquidity. The company's market valuation has climbed past $23 billion, with shares up over 71% year-to-date.
There is one potential speed bump: Rocket Lab's first Neutron launch has shifted to 2026. But Epstein doesn't see much risk there as long as execution remains solid. He raised his earnings estimates and price forecast, noting that recent acquisitions like Geost are strengthening the company's end-to-end space capabilities.
RKLB stock was trading up 4.52% to $45.59 in premarket trading Thursday.
