Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) went after President Donald Trump on Monday after the president tied his frustration over not winning the Nobel Peace Prize to a broadside against Norway during a rally in Michigan.
Sanders shared a clip from Trump's rally in Port Huron, Michigan, on X, highlighting the president's comments about Norway and its role in the Nobel Peace Prize.
"Norway is one of the most democratic and prosperous countries on Earth," Sanders wrote, pointing to its free health care, free college, strong democracy and free press.
"Trump says 'Norway sucks' and is a 'shithouse country' because it won't give him the Nobel Prize. Insane," he added.
Sanders further said, "We have a mentally unbalanced president."

In the clip, Trump discussed immigration from Denmark, Sweden, Norway and Somalia before expressing frustration over not receiving the Nobel Peace Prize.
"I don't think so because I didn't get the Nobel Prize even though they ended it," he said, referring to Sweden and Norway. "Think of it, I settled, so I'm not in love with Norway."
"Frankly, Norway sucks," Trump added. "Norway has become a shithouse country, actually."
