Beta Technologies, Inc. (NYSE:BETA) stock rose in Wednesday’s premarket session after the Federal Aviation Administration granted its ALIA VTOL, or A250, a Special Airworthiness Certificate for market surveys. The company said the authorization is the first of its kind for an electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft and allows BETA to conduct flights with operators and key stakeholders under Part 21.

FAA Authorization Expands A250 Flight Operations
The approval gives prospective operators a chance to evaluate the A250 before full type certification and commercial operations. It also expands the geographic scope of BETA’s flight operations, subject to applicable FAA limitations.
BETA completed its first flight under the new authorization on Oct. 20. The A250 took off vertically from Plattsburgh International Airport in New York, transitioned to wing-borne flight and landed vertically at Patrick Leahy Burlington International Airport in Vermont. The aircraft covered 34 nautical miles in 20 minutes.
"This authorization brings vertical flight closer to the people and places that will put it to work, building on BETA’s track record of industry firsts," founder and CEO Kyle Clark said. "This is an important step toward commercial adoption, and we’re grateful to the FAA for developing the regulatory framework that makes these operations possible," added Clark.
BETA continues to work toward full type certification and commercial operations.
Technical Setup Remains Weak
Beta Technologies remains technically weak, trading 8.4% below its 20-day SMA and 12.7% below its 50-day SMA. RSI stands at 37.97, showing weak momentum without reaching oversold territory, while MACD remains below its signal line. Key support sits near $16.50, with resistance around $19.50. A move above resistance would improve the short-term setup, while a break below support would add to downside pressure. BETA shares are down 49.58% over the past 12 months and trade at roughly 21.3% of their 52-week range, leaving the stock much closer to its lows than its highs.
Earnings And Analyst Outlook
BETA is scheduled to report earnings on Nov. 3, 2026. Analysts expect a loss of 59 cents per share, compared with a loss of $2.09 a year earlier. Revenue is estimated at $10.78 million, up from $8.92 million. The stock carries a Buy consensus rating with an average price forecast of $31.60. Needham maintained a Buy rating with a $34 forecast on Oct. 21. Barclays initiated coverage with an Overweight rating and $35 forecast on Oct. 9, while Cantor Fitzgerald maintained an Overweight rating and $31 forecast on Oct. 5.
