Bitdeer Technologies Group (BTDR) gave investors a lot to chew on after the closing bell Monday. The company dropped its September production and operations update, and the market liked what it saw: shares were up 7.02% in after-hours trading at $8.23 at the time of publication, according to market data.

Bitcoin Mining: 1,355 BTC And A 200% Jump
Let's start with the mining numbers, because they're the simplest part of the story. Bitdeer mined 1,355 Bitcoin (BTC) last month. That's a 200% increase on a year-over-year basis. The company said it anticipates continued momentum in its mining results over the coming months, which is the kind of forward-looking language that tends to get investors' attention.
The AI Pivot: Land, Data Centers, And A $2.9 Billion Backlog
But the mining update is only half the story. Bitdeer also said it recently acquired 200 acres near its existing Rockdale facility to support AI/HPC infrastructure development. That's a land grab, literally, and it signals the company is thinking well beyond Bitcoin.
The data center buildout is moving too. Bitdeer recently announced agreements securing 67MW of capacity at its A901 data center, with full delivery planned for the second quarter of 2027. It also announced an additional 60MW of capacity at its A103 data center, with delivery planned for the first quarter of 2028.
Then there's the part that really matters for the revenue story: offtake commitments covering more than 70% of its A201 data center. Those commitments are expected to generate more than $1.7 billion in revenue over five years. That should boost the company's total AI Cloud revenue backlog to approximately $2.9 billion.
CFO Michael Potter framed the quarter neatly: "September demonstrated our ability to convert owned power into contracted AI Cloud revenue," he said. He also pointed to the company's collaboration with Nvidia on enterprise agent safety and the land acquisition near Rockdale as further support for the platform Bitdeer is building, while noting that the Bitcoin mining business continues to benefit from increased tailwinds as pricing continues to strengthen.
So what's the takeaway? Bitdeer is trying to be two things at once: a Bitcoin miner riding a pricing tailwind, and an AI infrastructure player with contracted revenue and a growing backlog. Monday's after-hours move suggests investors are willing to buy that dual narrative, at least for now.
