Cathie Wood's ARK Invest spent Monday rearranging its healthcare furniture across its ETFs, and the shape of the room tells you something. The firm sold heavily in Twist Bioscience Corp (TWST) while steering fresh capital toward biotechnology and precision-medicine names.
Across its ARK Genomic Revolution ETF (ARKG) and ARK Innovation ETF (ARKK), ARK bought roughly $15 million of healthcare stocks while selling about $22 million. The biggest single move was an approximately $18 million reduction in Twist, while purchases centered on Recursion Pharmaceuticals Inc (RXRX), Veracyte Inc (VCYT) and Intellia Therapeutics Inc (NTLA).
The trades suggest ARK remains committed to genomics but is rotating exposure toward companies with clinical, diagnostic and drug-discovery catalysts.
ARKK Leans into Recursion and Intellia
Recursion received the largest combined purchase, at roughly $6.6 million, with about $5.3 million bought through ARKK and $1.3 million through ARKG.
ARK also bought approximately $1.2 million of Intellia, split between ARKK and ARKG. The purchase extended ARK's Intellia buying streak to 50 consecutive sessions.
Intellia's persistent accumulation is notable as the company approaches a major regulatory catalyst. The FDA has accepted its biologics application for lonvoguran ziclumeran, an investigational in-vivo CRISPR therapy for hereditary angioedema, for Priority Review. The drug has a March 10, 2027 PDUFA date. If approved, Intellia says the therapy could become the first in-vivo CRISPR-based treatment to reach the market.
ARKG Targets Precision Diagnostics
ARKG accounted for most of Monday's other purchases.
The fund bought roughly $5.4 million of Veracyte, while also adding about $777,000 of Freenome, Inc (FRNM) and $727,000 of Scribe Therapeutics Inc (SCTX).
Veracyte's recent operating momentum provides context for the purchase. The diagnostics company reported 15% year-over-year revenue growth to $150.3 million in the second quarter, with testing revenue rising 19%. It also acquired Convergent Genomics in September to expand its urinary cancer-testing capabilities.
Twist Selling Continues
On the other side of the ledger, ARK sold approximately $18 million of Twist, with roughly $9.5 million coming from ARKK and $8.5 million from ARKG.
The reduction marked the 21st consecutive session of Twist selling. ARKG also sold approximately $2.6 million of 10X Genomics Inc (TXG) and $1.5 million of CareDx Inc (CDNA).
Twist's continued trimming is notable given the company's exposure to AI-enabled drug discovery. It recently joined Eli Lilly And Co's (LLY) TuneLab, providing antibody characterization data for AI and machine-learning models aimed at accelerating drug discovery.
The Bigger ARK Signal
Monday's trades look less like a retreat from biotech and more like rotation within the genomics theme.
ARKK's buying was concentrated in Recursion and Intellia, while ARKG focused heavily on Veracyte and other precision-diagnostics names. Meanwhile, Twist accounted for roughly 80% of ARK's combined healthcare selling that day.
The pattern fits a broader pharmaceutical industry shift toward AI-driven drug discovery, precision diagnostics and gene-editing platforms. For ARK, the emerging question is no longer simply whether genomics will transform healthcare, but which companies can convert those technologies into commercially viable medicines and diagnostics.
