MongoDB, Inc. (MDB) stock rose nearly 2% in Tuesday's premarket trading after plunging 18.46% on Monday following a sudden leadership change.

MongoDB said CEO Chirantan Desai stepped down, effective immediately, to pursue a senior role at Meta Platforms, Inc. (META). Investors are now weighing the management shake-up against the company's unchanged financial outlook.

MongoDB Reaffirms Guidance

Despite the CEO departure, MongoDB reaffirmed its third-quarter and full-year fiscal 2027 guidance issued Sept. 1.

The company expects third-quarter adjusted earnings of $1.57 to $1.61 per share, above the $1.54 analyst estimate. Revenue is projected at $756 million to $761 million, compared with the $745.38 million consensus estimate.

MongoDB also maintained its fiscal 2027 outlook. It expects adjusted earnings of $6.39 to $6.58 per share and revenue of $2.99 billion to $3.03 billion.

Technical Analysis

MongoDB remains under pressure from a technical standpoint.

The stock is trading 13.4% below its 20-day simple moving average and 12.5% below its 50-day SMA. It is also 6.1% below its 100-day SMA and 1.8% below its 200-day SMA.

The 200-day average is now an important technical level. A move above that level could signal improving momentum.

The moving average convergence divergence, or MACD, remains below its signal line. The histogram is also negative. That suggests recent upside momentum has weakened.

MongoDB formed a golden cross in July, when its 50-day SMA moved above its 200-day SMA. However, the stock must reclaim shorter-term moving averages for the bullish setup to regain strength.

Key resistance sits near $364.50, close to the 100-day SMA. Support is near $292, an area where buyers previously stepped in.

Analyst Outlook

MongoDB carries a Buy consensus rating and an average price forecast of $467.79.

Recent analyst actions include Scotiabank maintaining a Sector Outperform rating and raising its price forecast to $440, Citigroup maintaining a Buy rating and raising its forecast to $565, and Goldman Sachs maintaining a Buy rating and raising its forecast to $520.
