Why Fusemachines Stock Is Up 17% Today: IBM Fusion Deal Supercharges AI Twin

Fusemachines Inc. (FUSE) stock is trading higher by more than 17% on Monday after the company announced an infrastructure update tied to the development of its AI Twin technology.

The stock outperformed the broader market. The Nasdaq is down 0.86% while the S&P 500 has shed 0.54%.

AI Twin Development

Fusemachines said Monday that modulAIre, an IBM Platinum Business Partner, has provided access to IBM Fusion infrastructure at nominal cost to support development of its AI Twin technology.

The added computing capacity is expected to help Fusemachines test AI models, evaluate different architectures and speed up development cycles.

The company unveiled AI Twin on Sept. 17. The company envisions the technology as a digital counterpart that can understand an employee's knowledge, responsibilities and organizational context.

The system is expected to combine large language models, agentic reasoning, conversational AI, memory and enterprise knowledge retrieval.

Fusemachines and modulAIre began their strategic partnership in February. The latest move expands the relationship into AI research and development.

Fusemachines said it also plans to explore how technology developed through the AI Twin program could be incorporated into its broader enterprise AI and agentic AI offerings.

Heavy Volume Highlights Volatility

Trading volume reached 50.40 million shares on Monday, well above the stock's 100-day average of 1.40 million shares.

Micro-cap stocks such as FUSE can experience sharp price swings because lower liquidity can amplify trading moves.

On Aug. 4, Fusemachines closed up to a $10.66 million investment from existing investor Meteora Capital at $4.20 per share. The financing included a convertible note and cash-exercise warrants.

The company said the capital would support development and commercialization of its Agentic AI platform, enterprise deployments and product innovation, as well as its long-term growth strategy.
