Broader Market Pressure
Monday's decline came as broader market sentiment weakened amid higher oil prices and rising Treasury yields.
U.S. stocks slipped after President Donald Trump rejected Iran's proposal to reopen the Strait of Hormuz and end the months-long standoff. WTI crude jumped 4.2% to $96.31 a barrel, while Brent rose 4% to $108.50.
The 10-year Treasury yield climbed 10 basis points to 5.27%, its highest level since 2007. Traders were also pricing in roughly a 65% chance of a Federal Reserve rate hike in October as higher energy prices fueled inflation concerns.
That backdrop weighed on growth stocks, which can be more sensitive to higher interest rates.
Market breadth remained negative, with an advance-decline ratio of about 0.4. Eight of the 11 major sectors were trading lower.
The pullback follows a strong multiweek rebound in Super Micro shares, which may also be prompting some investors to take profits.
