Bank of America Corp (BAC) President Donald Trump's latest investment tally looks modest next to the administration's $11.2 trillion cumulative figure. But its composition tells a different story.
Of the $2.5 billion in investments made (listed for Sept. 21–27) by the White House under President Trump's leadership, roughly $2.2 billion came from Hanwha Defense. That puts defense at about 89% of the week's total.
The company is a wholly owned U.S. subsidiary of Hanwha Aerospace, which is a major Korean defense contractor.
Hanwha Dominates the Week
Hanwha Defense's $2.2 billion commitment is aimed at a munitions manufacturing campus, making it by far the largest investment on the weekly list. Bank of America Corp (BAC) followed with $150 million, Amazon.com Inc. (AMZN) with $100 million, GKN Aerospace with $16 million and ArtiCast Jackson with $10.3 million.
That means the week's investment mix looks dramatically different from the broader tracker. Broadly, technology, AI, manufacturing and foreign investment account for many of the largest headline commitments of the White House portfolio.
A Different Trump Investment Mix
The Hanwha announcement also fits into a broader defense thread running through the tracker. The list includes investments from L3Harris Technologies, Inc. (LHX), Lockheed Martin Corp (LMT), Skydio, Saronic Technologies, General Dynamics Corp (GD) and RTX Corp (RTX), spanning factories, drones, missiles, shipbuilding, ammunition and electronic warfare.
For investors, the important signal is the changing composition rather than the weekly dollar figure alone. The next question is whether defense investments continue to appear alongside the much larger AI, semiconductor and manufacturing commitments — potentially creating a broader industrial investment cycle that reaches beyond the technology stocks dominating the cumulative totals.
