GE Vernova Inc. (GEV) stock traded lower Wednesday as broad market weakness pressured equities.
The stock fell about 1%, while the Nasdaq dropped 0.96% and the S&P 500 declined 0.65%.
Separately, GE Vernova said Wednesday it signed a services agreement to extend the operating life of five gas turbines at the Kureimat, Nubaria and Cairo North power plants in Egypt.
The turbines have a combined capacity of about 1,250 megawatts. GE Vernova expects its Rotor Life Extension services to extend their operating lives by 13 to 15 years. The work is scheduled between 2028 and 2035.
The agreement involves affiliates of the Egyptian Electricity Holding Company, including Upper Egypt Electricity Production Company, Middle Delta Electricity Production Company and Cairo Electricity Production Company.
GE Vernova said the project aims to improve reliability, efficiency and grid stability while extending the value of existing infrastructure.
The deal follows an April 2026 order from Middle Delta Electricity Production Company for upgrades and multiyear services at the Banha and Nubaria power plants.
