On Monday, the White House launched a 24/7 video stream dubbed "Trump TV" amid a growing dispute over press access that disrupted the traditional system for televising President Donald Trump's public events.

White House Launches 'Trump TV'

The new platform, promoted through the White House's YouTube channel, promises "top videos, major remarks, and must-see highlights streaming 24/7 and updated in real time."

On X, White House said, "Not every big moment has made it on your tv, now it can."

In a post announcing the launch, the White House wrote: "IT'S LIVE. TRUMP TV IS STREAMING NOW. 24/7, updated in real time, with top past moments, announcements, and the latest and greatest from the administration all in one place. Not every big moment has made it on your tv, now it can."

YouTube is owned by Alphabet Inc.'s (NASDAQ: GOOG) (NASDAQ: GOOGL) Google.

Its first broadcast featured Trump's July 3 address at Mount Rushmore before switching to footage from his 2025 inauguration, Forbes noted.

The launch comes as the administration faces a growing dispute with CNN, MS NOW and Politico.

CNN is owned by Warner Bros. Discovery Inc. (NASDAQ: WBD), Politico is owned by privately held Axel Springer and MS NOW (formerly MSNBC) operates as a cable news network under independent media company Versant Media Group Inc. (NASDAQ: VSNT).

Newsom Slams Trump TV as 'State-Run TV'

California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) criticized Trump's launch of "Trump TV," calling it "state-run TV." Newsom accused Trump of using the platform to drown out criticism of his administration.

"This is truly autocratic behavior from a failed President," he stated on X.

In his post, Newsom wrote: "First, Trump banned independent news from the White House. Now, he's launching what is quite literally state-run TV to try drowning out the fact that he and his corrupt administration are failing the American people. This is truly autocratic behavior from a failed President."

Trump Bans Three News Outlets

Trump announced Friday that the three outlets would be barred from the White House, accusing them of "constant 'reporting' FAKE NEWS!"

The outlets subsequently filed a federal lawsuit seeking to restore their access, arguing that the restrictions violate their First Amendment rights.

In a Truth Social post, Trump said, "FAKE NEWS IS A THREAT TO DEMOCRACY, and I will do whatever is necessary to make sure that the U.S.A. thrives."

The White House TV pool, made up of CBS, NBC, ABC, CNN and Fox, opted not to provide coverage of Trump's events on Monday.

As a result, the pool missed Trump's meeting with New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani (D) and the unveiling of a new White House helipad.

The helipad event aired without audio because the usual pool boom microphone was unavailable.

Sophia Cai, a reporter, described the scene on X: "Trump made his first remarks without the TV pool and it is impossible to hear him through the White House feed. He is doing an unveiling of the new helipad just before Xi's visit. Nothing but static for 9 minutes and Trump is wheels up."

Price Action: Versant Media closed at $34.70 on Monday, while Alphabet Inc. Class A and Class C closed at $354.97 and $350.87, respectively, according to market data.

According to market data rankings, GOOGL ranks in the 89th percentile for Growth, with positive short- and long-term price trends but a negative medium-term trend.
