Palantir Technologies Inc. (PLTR) is doing that thing where it keeps showing up everywhere. Enterprise software, government contracts, cybersecurity, sovereign AI deals. On Thursday, the company rolled out a trio of announcements that stretched its reach across all of those fronts at once.

Palantir Puts Its Customers on Stage at AIPCon
First up: Palantir is hosting its eleventh AIPCon today, Sept. 10, and the guest list reads like a cross-section of the global economy. Aviation, technology, insurance, defense, healthcare, manufacturing. They're all showing up to demonstrate what they've built on Palantir's platforms.
The presenters include Acrisure, Cisco Systems, Inc. (CSCO), Eaton Corp Plc (ETN), the Federal Aviation Administration, Hexion, L3Harris Technologies, Inc. (LHX), Novartis AG (NVS), NVIDIA Corp (NVDA), Ondas Inc (ONDS) Ondas Sentinel, USA TODAY Co., Inc. (TDAY) and Zeta Global Holdings Corp. (ZETA).
What are they actually doing with it? The use cases span supply chain management, insurance AI systems, connecting customer intelligence with revenue workflows, supporting drone operations, and deploying software in regulated government environments. The common thread is Palantir's Ontology, Foundry, AIP and Sovereign AI products, which customers are using to stitch together data and decision-making across complex operations.
A Free Cybersecurity Program for Critical Infrastructure
Palantir also announced Thursday that Method Security and itself launched the Cardinal Program, which offers select municipalities, utilities and critical-infrastructure operators free, opt-in continuous autonomous security assessments.
Here's how it works: Method will use autonomous systems and AI models to test internet-facing assets for potential attack paths, all under rules set by the participating organizations. Palantir will provide Foundry, AIP and its Ontology for Cybersecurity to integrate findings, automate repeatable assessment workflows and connect vulnerabilities to operational risks. The company said human oversight and safeguards will remain part of the program.
It's a notable move because critical infrastructure has become a favorite target for cyberattacks, and many smaller municipalities and utilities don't have the budgets for sophisticated security testing. Offering it for free, with guardrails, could get Palantir's software into environments it might not otherwise reach.
Fujitsu Doubles Down on Sovereign AI
Then there's the Fujitsu news. Palantir renewed and expanded its strategic relationship with Fujitsu Limited, which signed a new agreement covering AIP and Foundry and will serve as a Global FDE Partner.
The track record here is worth noting. Fujitsu previously used Palantir to build a supply-chain resilience system for a Japanese manufacturer spanning more than 3,000 suppliers and 18 factories. That customer generated more than $10 million in cost savings within one year and doubled operational productivity. Not bad for a supply chain project.
Now Fujitsu will invest further in Forward Deployed Engineering capabilities while combining its Takane large language model, Uvance offerings and industry expertise with Palantir's platforms. Palantir executive Kevin Kawasaki said the partnership will bring Palantir's sovereign AI architecture to more Fujitsu customers across Japan.
Sovereign AI, for those keeping score, is the idea that countries and regions want AI systems that run on their own soil, under their own rules. It's become a big theme as governments worry about data residency and foreign control of critical technology.
Wall Street Is Watching the Software Layer
Meanwhile, at least one investor is making the case that Palantir belongs in the winner's circle as AI adoption spreads beyond chips.
Silvant Capital Management CIO Michael Sansoterra sees Palantir among the software companies that could benefit as artificial intelligence adoption accelerates beyond the semiconductor sector. He said Palantir, Snowflake Inc. (SNOW), and CrowdStrike Holdings Inc. (CRWD) are finding valuable positions in the AI ecosystem while meeting or beating investor expectations and benefiting from rising demand. Silvant owns Palantir through its Virtus Silvant Large Cap Growth strategy.
Sansoterra did add a note of caution, though. He said investors should balance companies carrying high expectations with those facing lower expectations, with continued execution against those expectations remaining key. In other words, the story is great, but you still have to deliver.
Heavy ETF Weightings Mean Automatic Flows
One more thing worth flagging: Palantir carries significant weight in several ETFs, which means any big inflows or outflows for those funds will likely force automatic buying or selling of the stock.
- iShares Expanded Tech-Software Sector ETF (IGV): 9.34% Weight
- Global X Defense Tech ETF (SHLD): 9.17% Weight
- First Trust Indxx Aerospace & Defense ETF (MISL): 9.67% Weight
That's a lot of passive money tied to one stock. It cuts both ways, of course. Strong inflows can lift shares, but outflows can create selling pressure regardless of what the company is actually doing.
PLTR Price Action: Palantir Technologies shares were down 0.31% at $169.00 during premarket trading on Thursday, according to market data.
