NASA Backs Infleqtion's Space Quantum Sensor With Another $20 Million
But the real catalyst came from an announcement that NASA has awarded Infleqtion a $20 million follow-on contract for a space-based quantum gravity sensor. This award doubles NASA's total investment in the program to $40 million.
Infleqtion will be responsible for building and testing key sensor hardware designed to measure subtle changes in Earth's gravitational field. The technology could significantly improve monitoring of water, ice, and natural resources. Development is slated to continue through 2027, with a low-Earth-orbit launch targeted for 2030.
