Accounting Adjustment Lifts Revenue
The quantum technology company bumped its second-quarter 2026 revenue to $13.5 million from the previously reported $12.6 million. It also raised its full-year revenue outlook to about $45.1 million from $43 million.
What's behind the change? An accounting adjustment tied to two government contracts that shifted when revenue was recognized between reporting periods. It's a noncash item, so it doesn't touch the underlying business, operating cash flow, or balance-sheet cash. But it did reduce revenue that had been recognized in fiscal 2024 and 2025.
The updated second-quarter loss came in at 11 cents per share, wider than the 5-cent loss analysts had expected. Revenue of $13.54 million, however, beat the $10.64 million estimate.
Operating Loss Widens
Revenue jumped 157% year over year, driven entirely by organic growth in Infleqtion's quantum business. That's the good news. The less good news: the GAAP operating loss widened to $29.9 million from $10.4 million a year earlier, thanks to higher operating expenses and stock-based compensation. On a non-GAAP basis, the operating loss widened to $16.2 million from $7.6 million.
CEO Matt Kinsella framed the revision as a timing issue, not a fundamental problem. "We are providing updated Q2 financial results and full year outlook after an accounting adjustment related to two contracts that shifted the timing of revenue recognition between periods with no impact to cash," he said.
He added: "I want to reinforce that Q2 was a record quarter for Infleqtion, we remain on track for 30 logical qubits this year, and the pace of quantum commercialization is accelerating."
Critical Levels To Watch For INFQ Stock
Infleqtion shares are down about 14% over the past 12 months. The stock trades 16.1% above its 20-day simple moving average of $10.87 and 5.9% above its 50-day SMA of $11.92. But the 20-day SMA is still below the 50-day SMA, which suggests the broader trend hasn't fully turned around yet.
Momentum, though, is improving. The MACD is above its signal line, and the histogram is positive, indicating that selling pressure is easing.
On the chart, key resistance sits near $14.50. Support is around $11.50, close to the 50-day exponential moving average of $11.81.
So, what's the takeaway? The accounting adjustment is a reminder that revenue timing can be a bit squishy, but the underlying business story remains intact. The market, however, is voting with its feet today, and the technicals suggest a stock that's still finding its footing.
