Boeing Company (BA) announced Tuesday that it secured its largest single-aisle order to date, picking up a commitment from Air Cambodia for 20 737 MAX jets. It's the Cambodian carrier's first foray into Boeing's fuel-efficient aircraft lineup, and the company is clearly excited about it.

The Cambodia Deal
Air Cambodia plans to use the 737 MAX fleet to modernize its operations and expand connectivity across the region. The airline confirmed a firm order for 10 737-8 jets back in December 2025, with options to grab 10 more down the line. Interestingly, this order hadn't shown up on Boeing's Orders & Deliveries website until now.
Right now, Air Cambodia operates a modest fleet of six single-aisle and regional jets, serving domestic routes and international destinations including Vietnam, India, Thailand, China, Japan, and Hong Kong. The 737-8's efficiency and passenger comfort should help the airline tackle high-demand Asian routes more effectively.
Dr. David Zhan, CEO of Air Cambodia, framed the purchase as a growth catalyst: "This investment, Air Cambodia's largest narrowbody purchase, will let us launch direct services to important markets across North and Southeast Asia, and offer competitively priced travel for passengers, while creating local jobs and training opportunities that strengthen our communities."
Boeing's Recent Wins
The Air Cambodia announcement comes alongside other recent Boeing contract news. Last Thursday, the company revealed it will build four additional MH-139A Grey Wolf helicopters for the U.S. Air Force, along with providing sustainment support. This marks Boeing's second production contract for the aircraft in just five months.
Boeing also locked down an order for 30 more 737 MAX jets from Air India. That deal pushed Air India's order book to nearly 200 Boeing airplanes spanning both single-aisle and widebody families, underscoring the Indian carrier's aggressive expansion plans.
BA Price Action: Boeing (BA) shares were up 0.08% at $233.20 during premarket trading on Tuesday.
