Stride Inc. (LRN) just reminded investors why education stocks can be anything but boring. The online learning company delivered a second-quarter earnings beat that sent shares rocketing 14% higher in after-hours trading Tuesday.

The Numbers Tell a Growth Story
Stride's Q2 results weren't just good—they were decisively above expectations. Revenue came in at $631.26 million versus analyst estimates of $627.94 million, while adjusted earnings per share hit $2.50, crushing the $2.08 consensus.
But the real story is in the enrollment numbers. Total enrollments reached 248,500 students, up 7.8% year-over-year. Even more impressive, Career Learning enrollments jumped 17.6% to 111,500, showing strong demand for vocational and skills-based education. Revenue per enrollment also ticked higher to $2,437, up 1.8% from $2,395 in the prior year's quarter.
Stride's balance sheet remains healthy with $676 million in cash, cash equivalents and marketable securities, while capital expenditures totaled $16 million for the quarter.
Looking Ahead
The company backed up its strong quarter with confident guidance. Stride expects third-quarter revenue between $615 million and $645 million, topping analyst estimates of $613.63 million. Management also reaffirmed its full fiscal 2026 revenue outlook of $2.48 billion to $2.56 billion versus the Street's $2.51 billion expectation.
LRN Price Action: Stride shares traded at $82.59 in after-hours, up 14.03% at the time of publication Tuesday.
