When you're a cardiologist who's kept a vice president alive, you develop opinions about what constitutes concerning behavior. Dr. Jonathan Reiner, who treated Dick Cheney during his tenure as VP, thinks Congress should take a hard look at President Donald Trump's fitness for office.

The Letter That Raised Eyebrows
What triggered Reiner's concern? A letter Trump sent to Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre that connected some unusual dots. In the message, released by Norway's government, Trump complained that Norway "decided not to give me the Nobel Peace Prize for having stopped 8 Wars PLUS." His conclusion? He "no longer feel[s] an obligation to think purely of Peace" and will instead focus on "what is good and proper for the United States of America."
Writing on X Monday, Reiner said the letter and Trump's decision to have it distributed to other European countries "should trigger a bipartisan congressional inquiry into presidential fitness."
Greenland or Bust
The same letter questioned why Denmark has a "right of ownership" over Greenland and declared that "The World is not secure unless we have Complete and Total Control of Greenland." Norwegian officials confirmed Trump requested the message be shared with other governments.
This isn't just talk. Trump is threatening steep tariffs on European allies starting February 1 unless the U.S. can buy the mineral-rich Arctic territory, home to roughly 57,000 people. Denmark and the EU are understandably not thrilled.
Medical Questions Mount
Reiner has been raising health-related questions about Trump for weeks. Earlier this month, he called the president's reported 325-milligram daily aspirin regimen "unorthodox" and said it "makes no sense" under current cardiac guidelines.
Trump dismisses the concerns. In a Truth Social post, he said White House doctors declared him in "PERFECT HEALTH" and claimed he's "ACED" a cognitive exam "for the third straight time."
