Nvidia Strikes AI Licensing Deal
Nvidia Corp. (NVDA) shares pushed higher to $190.16 in overnight trading on Robinhood, building on momentum from Wednesday's announcement of a non-exclusive licensing agreement with AI chip startup Groq. The startup, founded in 2016, has secured rights to Nvidia's inference technology under the new arrangement. Nvidia shares had closed Wednesday down 0.3% at $188.61 before the overnight rally.
Dynavax Gets an Acquisition Pop
Dynavax Technologies Corp. (DVAX) saw its shares rocket 38.2% on Wednesday, closing at $15.38 after French pharmaceutical giant Sanofi announced plans to acquire the vaccines company. It's the kind of move that makes shareholders very happy and reminds everyone that the M&A market is still alive and well.
Sobr Safe Raises Capital
Sobr Safe Inc. (SOBR) announced definitive agreements to issue 1.29 million shares of common stock at $1.55 per share, along with associated warrants, in a private placement. The capital raise sent shares soaring 82.3% to close at $2.37 on Wednesday. That's quite the reaction to a funding announcement.
Davis Commodities Reports Strong Revenue Growth
Davis Commodities Ltd. (DTCK) posted revenue of $95 million for the six months ended June 30, representing a solid 42.1% jump from the $66.9 million reported in the same period last year. Despite the impressive growth figures, Davis Commodities shares fell 8.9% to close at $0.24 on Wednesday, proving once again that markets can be fickle about what they reward.
Biohaven's Trial Setback
Biohaven Ltd. (BHVN) disclosed that its Phase 2 proof-of-concept study of BHV-7000 in major depressive disorder failed to meet its primary endpoint. Clinical trial failures are never good news, but Biohaven shares actually gained 3% to close at $10.81 on Wednesday, perhaps suggesting investors either expected the news or believe the company has other promising prospects in its pipeline.
