Bitmine Immersion Technologies, Inc. (NYSE:BMNR) stock is trading higher on Wednesday as the price of Ethereum (CRYPTO: ETH) climbed more than 7% over the past 24 hours to reach $2,436.
The digital asset advanced amid a broad-based cryptocurrency rally that followed the resolution of the U.S. midterm elections. Broader equity markets also moved upward, with the Nasdaq Composite rising 1.33% and the S&P 500 gaining 1.73%.
As Bitmine holds approximately 4.9% of Ethereum's total supply of 122.2 million tokens, the company's stock remains sensitive to price shifts in the underlying asset.
Treasury Holdings Drive Momentum
Bitmine held 6,060,506 ETH as of Sunday. Total holdings, including cash, marketable securities, and strategic investments, reached $14.5 billion.
The balance sheet also includes an $82 million stake in Eightco Holdings Inc. (NASDAQ:ORBS). Bitmine continues to acquire tokens weekly toward its target of owning 5% of the circulating Ethereum supply.
Technical Analysis
BMNR is sitting right on its 20-day simple moving average ($22.22), a spot that often acts like a "line in the sand" for short-term trend traders deciding whether a bounce can stick. At the same time, the stock is trading 9.2% below its 50-day SMA ($24.26), so this rally still looks like a recovery attempt inside a choppier intermediate trend.
RSI is the cleaner momentum read here: at 46.88, it's neutral, suggesting the stock isn't stretched and still needs follow-through to turn momentum decisively upward.
The longer-term picture is mixed but improving versus the summer lows: BMNR is trading 6.8% above its 100-day SMA ($20.62) and 5.9% above its 200-day SMA ($20.80), which keeps the bigger base-building narrative intact despite the weak 12-month performance (down 44.16%). Traders will also remember the golden cross in September as a longer-term positive marker, even though the more recent 20-day/50-day relationship remains bearish.
- Key Resistance: $24
- Key Support: $20.50
