Tough Road Ahead for Republicans?
The betting crowd on Polygon (CRYPTO: POL)-based Polymarket sees a 32% chance that no Republican candidates win in the swing states, down from 50% a week ago.
The red party has a 2% chance of winning all seven states—Alaska, Iowa, Kansas, Maine, Michigan, Ohio, and Texas—and an 8% chance of winning only Iowa and Kansas.
Republicans currently hold Senate seats in Alaska, Iowa, Kansas, Ohio and Texas, while Dems hold Michigan's seat. Maine's two Senate seats are held by a Republican and an independent.
Overall, Polymarket punters give Democrats a 71% chance of winning both chambers of Congress, while odds that Republicans retain the Senate but lose the House stood at 24%.
Blue Sweep Imminent?
Things look interesting. Last week, Anthony Scaramucci, founder of SkyBridge Capital and a notable political commentator, said Democrats will take the House, but Republicans still have a "real chance" of holding the Senate in a closer race.
Trump's approval ratings have sunk to new lows. A Washington Post/ABC News/Ipsos poll in October showed him at just 33% approval, as voters grew more worried about inflation and the economy.
Notably, reports emerged that the White House has spent months preparing for the possibility that Democrats could take control of Congress and is now looking at how to keep advancing Trump's agenda through executive actions and presidential authority.
