When members of Congress trade stocks, people pay attention. Especially when they're selling names from hot sectors like semiconductors and data storage. Rep. Kevin Hern (R-Okla.) recently did exactly that, offloading several semiconductor- and data storage-related stocks, according to the MarketDash Government Trades page.
Here's what he sold:
- Oct. 14: Sold $15,000 to $50,000 in Texas Instruments (TXN) stock
- Oct. 23: Sold $15,000 to $50,000 in Seagate Technology Holdings (STX) stock
- Oct. 23: Sold $15,000 to $50,000 in ASML Holding NV (ASML) stock
That's not all. Hern also sold $500,000 to $1,000,000 worth of Texas Instruments stock back in March. The congressman has been a longtime holder of the stock, executing several years of dividend reinvestments on his owned shares. ASML stock was bought by Hern in 2022; STX stock has only been sold by Hern since 2018.
