Greene Says Republicans Betrayed 'America First' Mandate
In a post on X, Greene said voters were poised to send Republicans a message but questioned whether party leaders would understand it.
"There is a powerful lesson that voters are going to send to Republicans on Nov 3rd, but I’m not confident they will learn the lesson," she wrote.
She argued that Trump had strayed from the agenda that helped Republicans win the 2024 election, citing the war with Iran, the handling of the Jeffrey Epstein controversy and an economy she said had become unaffordable.
She also criticized Republican lawmakers for failing to challenge the president, saying they feared provoking his reaction on Truth Social and upsetting his supporters.
"They are all irrationally afraid of the Truth Social post and scared to upset the cult leader," Greene wrote, adding that Republicans could lose because of their continued loyalty to Trump.
Trump Approval Rating At 33% As Democrats Lead Congressional Ballot
A Washington Post/ABC News/Ipsos poll conducted in October puts Trump’s approval rating at 33%, the lowest level the survey has recorded. His disapproval rating stands at 66%, compared with 61% in July, when his approval rating was 37%.
For the first time in more than a decade, voters trust Democrats more than Republicans to handle the economy.
The poll also found that 58% of registered voters prefer a Democratic-led Congress to check the president, compared with 39% who favor a Republican-led Congress supporting his agenda — nearly double the margin recorded a year ago.
Midterms Put Trump’s Approval to the Test
Americans will vote on Nov. 3 to elect members of the House of Representatives and Senate, determining which party controls Congress and how easily President Trump can advance his agenda.
The midterm elections, held halfway through a president’s four-year term, are also widely viewed as a referendum on his performance.
