Amkor Technology Inc. (AMKR) reported its third-quarter fiscal 2026 results after Monday's closing bell, and the numbers were not pretty on paper. The company missed analyst estimates on both the top and bottom lines. Yet the stock rallied anyway. Go figure.

Amkor Q3 Details
Amkor reported quarterly earnings of 76 cents per share, which missed the consensus estimate of 78 cents, according to market data. Quarterly revenue came in at $1.99 billion, which missed the Street estimate of $2.01 billion.
So why the optimism? CEO Kevin Engel pointed to the bright spots: "Amkor delivered a strong quarter, with record revenue in Computing and Automotive & Industrial end markets and continued margin expansion, despite expected weakness in Communications."
That's the story investors latched onto. Record revenue in two key end markets and expanding margins suggest the business is firing on more cylinders than the headline miss implies. The Communications weakness was expected, so it didn't spook anyone.
Looking Ahead
Amkor is looking for fourth-quarter GAAP EPS of 65 cents to 75 cents, versus the 76 cent analyst estimate, and revenue between $1.9 billion and $2 billion, versus the $2.02 billion estimate. That guidance is below consensus, which might normally weigh on the stock. But Monday's after-hours action tells a different story.
AMKR Stock Price: According to market data, Amkor stock was up 5.98% to $39.05 in Monday's extended trading.
