Credo Technology Group Holding Ltd. (NASDAQ: CRDO) stock rose more than 4% in Monday's premarket trading, recovering some of last week's steep losses as investors returned to beaten-down artificial intelligence stocks.
The rebound came as Nasdaq futures gained 1.12%, while S&P 500 futures climbed 0.52%.
Chip Stocks Attempt Recovery After Sell-Off
Credo shares fell 4.93% on Friday to close at $169.70, extending their weekly losses to more than 20%. The decline came amid a broader sell-off in semiconductor stocks.
Investors have grown concerned about rising debt and financing risks tied to AI infrastructure. Meanwhile, hotter-than-expected inflation has fueled fears of higher interest rates.
The iShares Semiconductor ETF (NASDAQ: SOXX) fell for a ninth consecutive session on Friday, marking its longest losing streak since May 2006. The fund lost 9.4% last week and about 14% since Oct. 5.
AI Stocks Rebound As Risk Appetite Improves
Monday's premarket gains suggest investors are returning to semiconductor and AI infrastructure stocks after the recent sell-off.
Credo provides high-speed connectivity products for AI data centers, cloud computing and large-scale networks.
Its products include active electrical cables, optical transceivers and signal-processing chips. These technologies help transfer data between processors, memory and networking equipment.
Growing demand for AI computing infrastructure remains a key driver of Credo's long-term growth prospects. However, concerns about AI spending and elevated valuations continue to weigh on the sector.
Technical Analysis: Credo Faces Key Resistance
Despite Monday's rebound, Credo remains below several important technical levels.
The stock trades 11.9% below its 20-day simple moving average (SMA) of $199.88 and 14.6% below its 50-day SMA of $206.02.
It also remains 2.3% below its 200-day SMA of $180.18, signaling continued pressure on its longer-term trend.
Meanwhile, the moving average convergence divergence (MACD) indicator remains below its signal line. The negative histogram suggests bearish momentum persists.
However, the 50-day SMA remains above the 200-day SMA, preserving a longer-term bullish signal.
Investors are watching resistance near $199 and support around $149. A sustained move above resistance could strengthen the recovery, while a drop toward support would signal renewed selling pressure.
Credo Expands AI Data Center Connectivity Portfolio
Credo has also expanded its AI connectivity portfolio with several recent product developments.
The company demonstrated its OmniConnect Weaver memory technology at the 2026 OCP Global Summit. The system uses Advanced Micro Devices Inc.'s (NASDAQ: AMD) Versal AI Edge Series Gen 2 platform to improve memory bandwidth and capacity for AI accelerators.
Credo also launched an industry initiative to develop standards for high-speed optical connections in AI data centers.
Separately, the company unveiled its 1.6T ZeroFlap active light cable, designed to support data transfers over distances of up to 50 meters while consuming 12 watts per cable end. The product targets growing demand for faster, more energy-efficient AI networking.
