Intuit Inc. (INTU) stock is trading higher by more than 6% on Thursday after the company announced it will acquire Sequence, an AI-native revenue management platform.
The acquisition expands Intuit's revenue management offerings for mid-market businesses.
AI-native ERP Expands for Intuit
Founded in 2021, Sequence leverages AI to help B2B finance and commercial teams automate the full quote-to-revenue lifecycle, including deal configuration and pricing, billing, invoicing, collections, and revenue recognition.
The acquisition will strengthen the capabilities of Intuit's Intuit Enterprise Suite, a resource planning and consolidation platform, and QuickBooks Online Advanced, its cloud-based accounting platform.
The acquisition will also expand Intuit's reach to sectors, including B2B software, professional services, construction, healthcare, and manufacturing.
Sequence co-founder and CEO Riya Grover highlighted the growing need for revenue management automation as business complexity grows with usage-based and hybrid pricing revenue models.
Ashley Still, executive vice president and general manager, Small Business & Mid-Market Group at Intuit, said the acquisition further extends Intuit Enterprise Suite directly into industries that increasingly leverage AI consumption models and is a meaningful step forward for the company to deliver AI-native ERP for complex businesses.
Following the acquisition, Grover and the Sequence team will join Intuit's Mid-Market product organization.
Intuit held $4.7 billion in cash and cash equivalents and had total debt of $7.7 billion as of July 31.
Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
