SVRN, Inc. (SVRN) shares are up more than 13% on Friday after the company acquired FastNEAR, a provider of Remote Procedure Call infrastructure that supports applications on the NEAR Protocol.
The acquisition, announced Thursday, expands SVRN's NEAR strategy beyond treasury management into Remote Procedure Call, archival infrastructure, and developer data services.
The financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
SVRN Stock Remains Highly Volatile
The micro-cap stock had a market capitalization of about $73.4 million based on the previous close. The company's small market value and sharp volume increases or decreases can drive significant share-price volatility.
The stock is trading on thin volume, with session activity at 68,000 shares.
In August, the company completed a corporate transformation focused on actively managing the only publicly traded NEAR digital asset treasury.
SVRN Expands Beyond Digital Asset Treasury
FastNEAR operates RPC servers and archival infrastructure that holds the network's complete transaction history as well as NEARDATA developer feed.
FastNEAR serves more than 3.5 billion requests a month with more than 100 terabytes of data.
The acquisition will advance SVRN's strategy of expanding its participation in the NEAR ecosystem beyond holding digital assets.
SVRN also gains an established operating business, along with its founding engineers, Evgeny Kuzyakov and Mike Purvis.
The acquired paying customer base is also distinct, with value tied to network usage rather than the token price.
The company plans to invest further in FastNEAR's infrastructure and build additional products and services on it.
