What the Statement Said About AST SpaceMobile
The governments of the United States and Japan released the statement after White House Office of Science and Technology Policy Director Michael Kratsios met Japan's Minister of State for Science and Technology Policy Toshiharu Furukawa in Kyoto on Sunday.
The statement said, "Both sides welcomed Japan's Rakuten Group and the U.S.-based AST SpaceMobile cooperation for the development and deployment of Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite infrastructure."
TELUS Test
On Monday, TELUS and AST SpaceMobile said they completed their first integration test between TELUS' wireless network and AST SpaceMobile's space-based network.
The companies said the test relates to broadband data, voice calls and text messages sent directly between smartphones and satellites, according to market data.
Technical Analysis
ASTS is trading 0.9% below its 20-day SMA ($60.46) and 4.5% below its 50-day SMA ($62.74), which keeps the near-term trend tilted lower unless it can push back above those levels. The bigger issue is the longer timeframe: the stock is still 18.5% below the 100-day SMA ($73.46) and 26.1% below the 200-day SMA ($81.04), reinforcing that rallies have recently been counter-trend.
RSI is at 46.05, which signals neutral momentum—neither oversold enough to imply a forced bounce nor strong enough to confirm a fresh uptrend. In other words, the stock is acting more like it's trying to base than break out.
The moving-average structure remains a headwind, with the 20-day SMA below the 50-day SMA and a death cross in July (the 50-day SMA below the 200-day SMA). That combination often keeps sellers active on strength, especially near obvious reference points like the low-to-mid $60s.
- Key Resistance: $67 — a round-number area that lines up with a likely rebound "stall zone" below the 100-day trend measures
- Key Support: $57.50 — a nearby floor traders may defend if the stock fades back toward recent demand
ASTS Price Action: AST SpaceMobile shares were up 3.03% at $60.21 during premarket trading on Tuesday, according to market data.
