When a member of Congress hasn't bought a stock since 2024, the list of names they're selling probably deserves a closer look. That's exactly the situation with Rep. Pete Sessions (R-Texas), who just disclosed two more sales.
According to the MarketDash Government Trades page, Sessions sold $15,000 to $50,000 worth of Alphabet Class A (GOOGL) shares on Sept. 14. On the same day, he sold $15,000 to $50,000 of AbbVie (ABBV) shares.
These transactions fit a familiar pattern. Back in July, Sessions sold shares of Verizon and Ares Capital Corporation. Those were his only other transactions in 2026. He did buy several corporate bonds in 2025, but otherwise, it's been all selling in recent years.
The last stock Sessions actually bought? Microsoft, with a $1,000 to $15,000 purchase in December 2024.
