Shopify Inc. (SHOP) stock gained Tuesday following the announcement of a partnership with Meta Platforms, Inc. (META).

The agreement integrates Shopify's e-commerce infrastructure with Meta's Muse personal AI agent, allowing users to shop across Shopify-powered merchants and process purchases via Shop Pay.

Nasdaq futures are up 0.07% while S&P 500 futures have gained 0.07%.

Partnership Integrates Shop Pay Into Meta Muse

The deal enables autonomous, AI-driven purchasing capabilities through Shop Pay, Shopify's accelerated checkout tool that stores customer payment and delivery information.

Shopify CEO Tobias Lütke announced the partnership on X on Monday, describing it as an effort to create an "easy and delightful way to shop and check out with Muse." Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg confirmed the integration on X early Tuesday.

"Teaming up with Shopify to make shopping and checkout easier in Muse," Zuckerberg wrote. "Shoppers find more. Shops sell more. More partnerships like this coming soon."

Technical Analysis

From a trend perspective, Shopify is trading above its major moving averages, sitting 1.9% above the 20-day SMA ($139.31), 4.1% above the 50-day SMA ($136.38), and 9% above the 200-day SMA ($130.25). That alignment keeps the intermediate trend constructive, with the 20-day SMA above the 50-day SMA (bullish) and the golden cross (50-day above 200-day) still in place since August.

Momentum is more "reset than stretched," with RSI at 51.09, which signals neutral conditions rather than an overbought chase. In plain terms, RSI helps gauge whether buying or selling has become extended; near-50 readings often show a stock in balance and more sensitive to breakouts from nearby levels.
