Nothing says "I believe in this company" quite like writing a $30 million check with your own name on it. That's essentially what happened at Grab Holdings (GRAB), where two of the company's top executives went on a shopping spree for their own stock, and the market noticed.

Shares of the Southeast Asian ride-hailing and delivery giant are trading higher by over 5% during Tuesday's premarket session after regulatory filings showed significant stock purchases by two of the company's top executives.

As per the filings, on September 21, CEO Anthony Tan purchased 10.35 million Class A ordinary shares at a weighted average price of $2.8866 per share.

That works out to a total investment of about $29.9 million. Following the transaction, Tan directly holds 10.78 million Class A shares.

Not to be outdone, President and COO Alexander Hungate purchased 299,571 Class A shares at a weighted average price of $2.8936, worth approximately $867,000. His direct holdings increased to 6.41 million shares following the transaction.

Together, the two executives purchased approximately 10.65 million shares for more than $30.7 million. When the people who run the place start buying hand over fist, investors tend to pay attention.

Expands Consumer Lending Business With Acquisition

Last week, the company agreed to acquire a controlling 60% stake in Atome Financial for $1.49 billion in cash, expanding its consumer lending business across Southeast Asia.

Grab said the acquisition would combine Atome Financial's AI-powered lending infrastructure with its own ecosystem data. The company expects the combination to strengthen underwriting and expand access to consumer credit.

The company expects its Financial Services segment, including Atome Financial, to generate $500 million in adjusted EBITDA and a gross loan portfolio of more than $6 billion by 2028.
