CAVA Authorizes $100 Million Buyback
CAVA Group's board authorized a share repurchase program of up to $100 million, running through Sept. 17, 2027.
The company may buy shares through open-market transactions, privately negotiated deals, or Rule 10b5-1 plans, depending on market conditions.
It will fund repurchases with existing liquidity and operating cash flow, while retaining flexibility to modify or end the program.
The $100 million authorization adds shareholder returns alongside continued store expansion.
The company held $322.763 million in cash and cash equivalents and had zero debt as of July 12, 2026.
Technical Trend Remains Under Pressure
Despite Friday's premarket gain, the stock remains below its key 20-day, 50-day, 100-day, and 200-day moving averages.
The 20-day average remains below the 50-day average, while the death cross formed in August, when the 50-day average dropped below the 200-day average, remains intact.
MACD is also below its signal line with a negative histogram, indicating weak near-term momentum.
Resistance sits near $56, while support is around $51.
Analysts Remain Bullish Despite Recent Weakness
The stock carries a Buy consensus rating with an average price target of $87.81. Analyst targets range from $58 to $110 across 39 analysts.
RBC Capital maintained an Outperform rating Wednesday while lowering its target to $85. Seaport Global initiated coverage Tuesday with a Buy rating and $58 target. DA Davidson lowered its target to $75 in August while maintaining a Neutral rating.
