A Big Retailer Comes Back For More
Orion said a longtime U.S. retail customer made a follow-on commitment for an LED lighting project expected to contribute $10 million to $15 million in sales in fiscal 2027.
The company raised its fiscal 2027 sales guidance to $100 million-$102 million from $95 million-$97 million.
The revised outlook lifts both ends of Orion's previous range by $5 million and gives investors greater visibility into revenue from a significant existing customer.
Orion provides LED lighting systems, wireless IoT-enabled controls, commercial and industrial EV charging infrastructure, and lighting and electrical maintenance services.
Its customers span retail, manufacturing, warehousing and logistics, government, healthcare, and education. Lighting remains its largest revenue segment.
Hyperscaler Expands Orion Deployment
Recently, Orion secured a second multimillion-dollar order from a global hyperscaler for its MPHL2 LED Lighting solution, just three months after the first deployment.
The follow-on project covers another data-center facility. Orion said product efficiency and its supply chain were key factors in the customer's decision.
Technical Analysis
Orion Energy Systems remains in a bullish technical trend. The stock trades about 12% above its 20-day simple moving average of $24.10. It is also more than 55% above its 50-day SMA of $17.40.
The 50-day average remains above the 200-day average after a golden cross formed in August. That setup supports the longer-term bullish trend.
However, momentum is showing some signs of cooling. The MACD is below its signal line, while the histogram is negative. That suggests momentum has weakened even as the share price remains elevated.
The stock is approaching its 52-week high of $31, set in September. Meanwhile, $27.50 represents a nearby resistance level.
OESX Stock Price Activity: Orion Energy Systems shares were up 6.37% at $27.44 at the time of publication Tuesday, according to market data.
